I have a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. My speedometer and gas gauge does not function properly.?

What is the first way to repair the gauges. Do you have to replace the whole cluster or can you replace each guage?

I Had A 94 Cavalier And The Same Thing Happened To Me Erect Sure All You Battery Terminals Are Clean And Put Some Electrical Grease On The Terminals And Also Replace The Fuse For The Entire Centre of Gauges That Worked For Me. Hope This Helps
  • If your professional diagnosis deems the gauges broken, then you have to replace the whole knot. That's how they sell it.
  • On a 2003 I am assuming that you have the digital guages if this is the case then you will have to replace the whole cluster Have the dealer check your vin # for recalls you huddle might in these recalls and the dealer will replac it free. Good Luck
  • If your having any transmission shifting static and the gauges didn't go bad at the same time, then you could have a bad Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on your transmission that electronically drives the speedometer. The fuel measure sensor in the gas tank could be contaminated with sulphur build up from modern gasolines, so try several applications of Chevron's Techron to mend that. http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/05/11/ec/0900823d800511ec/repairInfoPages.htm http://www.chevron.com/products/ourfuels/prodserv/additives/tcp.aspx
  • If the nutrition Gage and speedometer stopped working at the same time I dought it's the gages. Would be odd for them both to go bad at the same time. I would start by checking for power and earth to the dash cluster. chevrolet speedometer adjustment
