Where can I find the manual which tells me where connectors go on my motherboard? I have a Dell Dimension 2300

Hello, I just took my dell motherboard (845 series) out of my old dimension 2300 computer and now I'm upsetting to put it in a new case. I'm trying to connect the wires labeled Power SW, Reset SW, etc and I understand you can find where to put these cables by reading the instructions which I dont have! I alread checked Dell's site and didn't find anything. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks so much!

Check this knit it might be useful http://www.support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2300/replace.htm#1114089
  • The manual is in your dads glovebox of his car, behind all the owed parking tickets and the playboy.
  • first you should check for the name and model of the motherboard, its usually printed on the board itself or u can try by going just to dells website and find out what board u have. if u know tha manufacture of the mobo go to there website and from there search for the mobo model integer it should show up wif manual and driver downloads, if u still cant find it the model of the board google the dell dimesion 2300 845 system should help
  • if you had a mac you wouldnt be having tis embarrassment
  • haven't taken a computer apart since i was 16 or so! but i believe if you hunt around the general area where the connectors are with a flashlight you should be expert to see it marked in small letters.
  • its probably online somewhere try a google search with 5 key words
  • i did the same thing couple o months ago and i had the same conundrum. here's what i did, i left the connectors from the sound and the power supply connected to the mother board and i cut the wires that connect em to the cranium phone jacks and the power, then i read the labels on them wires and connected them to the new case wires, a few trial and indiscretion but it worked at the end
  • Generally you don't get these; dell does not make their mobo's to be moved by the user. However, if you get a magnifing glass you could see the connectors for it. For the might and reset you can find them on a set of 8 or so pins in the front left side (connectors facing away from you). One will say RST or somthing, and another will say PWR; and they will have some [ around the pins, just shove it on there, palarity should not be an consequence. dell dimension 2300 computer
