What is the difference between "peppermint bon bon" and "mint chocolate plaque" ice cream?
I ordered a peppermint bon bon sundae at a place near Boston. The waitress, otherwise extremely good, returned a void look before saying "We don't have that flavor." "You're out of the green stuff with chocolate chips?" "No, we have 'mint chip'."
I would estimate that the peppermint is a red/white peppermint flavor, and the mint chocolate chip is generally a green spearmint flavor with chocolate shavings or chips in it. bon jovi and fargo and shuttle
People of the North USA know what peppermint bon bon ice cream is and people from the south have know idea. The difference is mint chocolate chip ice cream has chunks of chocolate in it whereas PBB has small specks throughout. My buddy and I everytime we could get 50 cents would go to the drugstore and order a PBB malt split cuz we could only afford one.
